Flooring Options

Engineered Wood Flooring

Engineered flooring is the most commonly used timber flooring, it is made up of several layers designed to make the product more stable.  The final top layer is 4-6mm thick hardwood which is designed to achieve the finish and end look of the floor.

Engineered is available in pre-finished (already sanded and coated) and unfinished which will still requires sanding and finishing on site.  Engineered flooring can be installed over nearly all surfaces and can be either floated or directly glued and fixed to the subfloor. Just Timber Floors recommends to glue fix all timber flooring.

Solid Wood & Hardwood Flooring

Solid wood flooring is when the board is made out of a single piece of wood, this is the most commonly used flooring in New Zealand with nearly all our original flooring being solid, e.g. all of our native timbers, as well as the imported timbers such as the Australian and American hardwoods etc.

Solid timber floors require installation with glue fixing and the sanding and finishing on site. All solid wood flooring has the ability to be re-sanded 4-5 times during its life cycle, allowing you to revisit the look, colour and feel of your flooring and restore it back to a brand new looking floor.
